SECURITY & FOREIGN AFFAIRS: ARMENIAN PRESIDENT CONGRATULATES ARMENIAN PEOPLE ON THE VICTORY DAY

Author:

Armenian President congratulates his people on the Victory Day, Armenian President Robert Kocharyan has congratulated Armenian people on the Victory Day.

The presidential press service reports Kocharyan as saying: "Dear compatriots! I would like to congratulate you on the Day of Victory and Peace. The Victory in WWII opened up new prospects for our people. The perception of this day changed on May 9 1992 when we liberated Shushi. Today, May 9 is a dual holiday for our people. It symbolizes our determination and will to live freely and safely. We know the price of our victories and, today, we can see their fruits. That's why we are faithful to the principle of peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on the irrefutable fact of existence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. I would like to congratulate you on the Victory Day once again and to wish you peace so we can continue building our state and be worthy of our historic victories."
