Politics: President Sahakyan said ceasefire violations can’t change balance of forces between NKR, Azerbaijan

There is a strong military and political balance between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan, which is one of key components of stability in the conflict zone, Artsakh President said.

Commenting on the situation at the border in an interview with Military Diplomat magazine, Bako Sahakyan said that ceasefire violations have become more frequent but they cannot “change the existing balance of forces or undermine the morale of Karabakh army.”

“Artsakh continuously suggests measures to strengthen trust. We offered to withdraw snipers from the contact line but the Azerbaijani side rejects any proposal however constructive these could be,” President Sahakyan said.
