SECURITY & FOREIGN AFFAIRS: CHEVALIER SAYS IT'S POSSIBLE TO SETTLE NK CONFLICT IN NEAR FUTURE

It's quite possible to settle the Karabakh conflict in the near future, as the special representative of Belgium Kingdom in the OSCE, Senator Pier Chevalier stated in the course of the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh Arman Melikyan, according to the information-analytical department of the NKR MFA. Shevalie inquired about the position of the NKR about the prospects of the settlement of the conflict, expectations of the OSCE in this context.

The NKR Minister of Foreign Affairs briefly introduced the history of the conflict, reasons of war and consequences of it as well as the position of the authorities of the NKR.

In the course of the meeting they emphasized the necessity of establishing of direct contacts between the NKR and European structures. In this context the Karabakh side suggested that the mandate of the special representative of the EU in the South Caucasus Haiki Talvitie be enlarged, including Nagorno-Karabakh as well.
