A member of Russia’s Federation Council, Chair of Federation Council Commission for Information Policy Lyudmila Narusova arrived in the NKR on a one-day visit.
The Russian Senator met with the professorial staff and students of the Artsakh State University, DE FACTO own correspondent in Stepanakert reports.
Touching on the Nagorno-Karabagh conflict settlement, Lyudmila Narusova noted 15 years of the Nagorno-Karabagh Republic’s independence was a long period, however, she doubted if the problem would be settled in one or two years. She added the conflict should be resolved in a peaceful way.
Answering the students’ questions on the development of relations between educational institutions of the Nagorno-Karabagh and Russia, she spoke up for the necessity of such cooperation and promised to contribute to it. The issue of opening a Russian school in Stepanakert was also considered.
Today the NKR President Arkady Ghoukassian received Lyudmila Narusova. In the course of the meeting the interlocutors touched upon the issues referring to the development of the Nagorno-Karabagh’s education sphere and cooperation with the Russian colleagues in this field.
Lyudmila Narusova said the Fund after Anatoly Sobchak she headed was to promote the development of the Nagorno-Karabagh’s educational sphere and organize the education of the Nagorno-Karabagh students at the Russian educational institutions. In her words, the Fund is to establish a grant after Anatoly Sobchak for the students of Artsakh State University.
