On March 19, Acting Foreign Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Vassily Atajanian received Conciliation Resources organization’s Caucasus Programs’ Manager Laurence Brayers.

Greeting the guest, Vassily Atajanian noted the importance of international NGOs in resolving humanitarian issues and strengthening the regional stability.

Laurence Brayers presented the organization’s programs being realized in the region, in particular, in Nagorno Karabakh, noting that they were aimed at the development of the civil society.

During the meeting, Mr. Atajanian touched upon the process of democratic institutes’ development in the NKR, a series of humanitarian issues, as well as the pre-history of the Karabakh conflict and the current stage of the negotiation process on its settlement. He noted that the destructive position of official Baku at the negotiations and the state-level policy of hatred towards Armenians pushed back the prospects of the conflict settlement and enhanced the hostility between the parties’ societies.

The Acting Foreign Minister noted that the Nagorno Karabakh Republic was ready for a dialogue and cooperation, emphasizing the necessity of regular visits to the NKR by different-level European officials for studying the real situation in place.

Vassily Atajanian expressed readiness to do his utmost to support the activity of the Conciliation Resources in the NKR.
