“I suppose my opinion will not be an original one, if I say that the latest parliamentary election was held with total gerrymander,”- stated a leader of New Policy opposition block, Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Azerbaijan Araz Alizade. In his words some international organizations have stated that it was triumph of democracy, others considered they fell short of European standards. «Opposition holds rallies at present, however I do not think events like Georgian or Ukrainian ones lie ahead. We will not have an increasing tide of protest. The point is that opposition leaders are not at that level, neither is the mentality of Azeris. I think they will hold rallies a bit and then they will calm down. To pacify the OSCE, PACE, US, the Azeri authorities will repeal the election returns in some 15 districts, where repeated election will be held. And the matter will finish that way. And it is not a fact that all those places will be occupied by oppositionists. I think some oppositionists will be provided an opportunity to get mandates and they will go to the Parliament,» he remarked.

Answering a question on what is his vision of the future Parliament, Araz Alizade said, "it will be a cabinet of curiosities. I suppose sanctions of international structures against Azerbaijan will follow. The PACE will decide to deprive our country of the vote, the OSCE will do the same. However, the most awful is that a process of recognition of Nagorno Karabakh may commence. Thus, international organizations state unambiguously that if right of Azeris themselves are violated in Azerbaijan, no one can guarantee that rights of Armenians will not be violated in our country",- reported the Echo Baku newspaper.
