ECONOMY & SOCIETY: BEIRUT STUDENTS TAKING THEIR PRACTICE IN KARABAGH

Date: 08-24-2006

For already a few days, two members of the Zavarian Student's Council from Beirut have been in Karabagh, taking their 6 or 7-week practice at the NKR Foreign Ministry.

According to Sevan and Shant, they wanted to arrive in Karabagh and familiarize with the people living here. It became possible after NKR Foreign Minister Georgy Petrosian's visit to Lebanon who advised the young people to come to Karabagh and see everything in place.

These days, the Beirut fellows met with representatives of youth organizations of Karabagh. «We'd like not only to familiarize with the local youth organizations, but also establish contacts with them in the future», said Sevan in his interview to KarabakhOpen.

This is the first visit of the Lebanon students to Karabagh. Their impressions are great. According to Shant, they expected to see Artsakh in worse situation, and the people – in bad mood. But, on arriving here, they made sure that after the war the people continue to live with the hope for the future.
