On November 20, President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic who is now in the United States gave an interview to the Los Angeles “Horizon” TV Company and the New York “Armenian Reporter” Journal.
Arkady Ghoukassian answered various questions related to the current situation of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement and the perspectives of the problem settlement as well as the expansion of the cooperation with the Armenian Diaspora and adoption of the NKR Constitution.
Speaking about the coming, November 23 telethon on fund raising for the realization of the “Reconstruction of Artsakh” program, the NKR President expressed a hope that the event would allow to direct the joint efforts of the Armenian Diaspora to the implementation of vital programs in the Nagorno Karabakh Hadrut region.
The same day the Head of the Karabakh state visited the office of the “Linsy” Fund where he met with Chairman of the Fund Jim Aljyan and Deputy Chairman Harout Sasounian. Arkady Ghoukassian expressed gratitude to the Fund for contribution to Artsakh and presented to the interlocutors the processes taking place in the NKR including the achievements and progress fixed in the sphere of the economical development. Among other issues the interlocutors discussed the perspectives of the “Linsy” Fund’s contribution to the development of the NKR educational sphere.
On November 20, Arkady Ghoukassian had a meeting with the delegation of the Central Committee of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation “Dashnaktsutyun” of the USA Western Coast headed by ARFD CC Chairman Avetik Izmirlian. The participants of the meeting touched upon a number of issues related to the economical and social spheres of the NKR. At the same time the role of the Armenian organizations of the Diaspora in solution of the issues facing Artsakh was noted.
The same day in the house of Hakob and Hilda Baghdasarian a reception in honor of the NKR President took place. A number of influential representatives of the Armenian community of Los Angeles took part in the reception. The list of the invitees included also Leader of the Armenian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Pargev Martirossian. In his speech Arkady Ghoukassian highly evaluated the contribution of the Baghdasarian couple to the reconstruction of Artsakh. Turning to the attendants the NKR President stressed the key importance of national unification in strengthening of the borders of Artsakh and the country’s development.
“The fate of the Armenian nation is being decided in Artsakh,” Arkady Ghoukassian noted.
