AAA Trustees Visit Nagorno Karabakh Republic, Meet Top Government Officials

Stepanakert, October 7-9. Delegation of the Armenian Assembly of America visited Nagorno Karabakh Republic to explore ways of assisting Nagorno Karabakh in the economic, social, cultural and other spheres. As part of their itinerary, they met with President Arkady Ghoukasian, Prime-Minister Anoushavan Danielian, Foreign Minister Naira Melkoumian and Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian. Delegation members congratulated Ghoukasian on his reelection, adding that the results of the vote demonstrated public endorsement of his administration's policies. Ghoukasian thanked the Assembly for its support of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and praised its efforts aimed at the NKR's international recognition. He also stressed the importance of continued investments for the economic development of Nagorno Karabakh.

Stepanakert, October 28. Foreign Minister Ashot Ghoulian received a delegation from the French city of Clamart headed by its Mayor Philippe Kaltenbach. The delegation included Vice-Mayor Takor Karakozian, Assistant Mayor Philippe Andzenberg and the representative of the Armenian community of Clamart, Ashot Shmavonian. Kaltenbach said that as it has become a tradition for the Armenian community of Clamart to assist Artsakh State University, and they were in Nagorno Karabakh to assess the needs of the institution firsthand. Ghoulian thanked members of the delegation for their humanitarian mission and expressed the hope that cooperation between the Armenian community of Clamart and Artsakh State University will strengthen.

and in the northern part of Jraberd province . As part of the effort to strengthen the cease-fire regime, the monitoring established radio contacts between the commanding officers on both sides. No incidents were reported during the monitoring sessions. Representatives of the NKR Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs accompanied the OSCE representatives.
