Energy Poduction

The Sarsang Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) is the largest source of energy in the NKR. The HPP has a 50-megawatt capacity and produces 90-100 million kilowatt-hours of energy per year. Local water resources support the construction of small HPPs in almost every region of Nagorno Karabakh. A program of future energy development has been elaborated, which entails the construction of eighteen small HPPs with a total capacity of around 140 MWt. If completed, this would increase the annual energy production to 460 million kilowatts per hour, and strengthen the domestic and external network of energy distribution.

Increasing the capacity of power stations and ensuring efficient energy consumption will create an opportunity to export energy abroad in the future.
