Landslide and Flood Prevention

Landslides and floods have always been a real threat in some parts of Nagorno Karabakh. The problem was exacerbated by extensive artillery shelling of some villages during the war: currently 3,840 residents in four Varanda province villages are in danger of a landslide. In some areas, drainage and soil reinforcement can avert a natural disaster, while in other parts villages need to be relocated to safe locations.

Suggested Program and Estimated Cost:
Construction of 384 individual houses and village infrastructure for relocation of four villages and drainage of underground water and soil reinforcement - $5 million.
