Mr. ROBERT AVETISYAN,
Permanent Representative
of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic to the United States
The NKR President Bako Sahakyan’s Decree of February 2009 appointed Robert Avetisyan Permanent Representative of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic to the United States.
Prior to appointment, Avetisyan worked as counselor at the NKR Permanent Representation in the United States.
From August 1999 till February 2008, R.Avetisyan served on different positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
Avetisyan holds Bachelor’s degree in philology from the Artsakh State University, and Master’s degree in international affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University.
Robert is married, and has three children.
Since 1997, NKR maintains a representation office in Washington, D.C. Mr. Avetisyan is the chief executive officer of the Office of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic in the United States (NKR Office). The NKR Office is registered with U.S. Government under Foreign Agent Registration Act.
